Panel: A Walk in the Park

At the center of our nighttime celebration is a curated panel discussion, “A Walk in the Park,” highlighting women from diverse industries and how their journeys to success have been everything but a “walk in the park”. Back for the second year in a row, Kimmy B will moderate the panel with three special guests.

Starr is a prime example that authenticity speaks volumes, whether she’s sharing her incredible story or hyping up an entire fitness class.

Gabriela Trujillo

IG – @alamarcosmetics

A boss lady through and through, Gabriela built her beauty company from the ground up, gaining a huge following in just 6 years.

Music

All throughout the night, enjoy music that reaffirms the power of female voice. DJ Kexxy will spin the decks, setting the mood with catchy beats and unforgettable pink hair. Up-and-coming singer and songwriter, Le Coco will also perform live towards the end of the night. Fresh off her performance at SXSW, she’s bringing innovative sounds across genres such as R&B, soul, pop, trap, and folk.

Photo Moments & Activations

As you walk along our boulevard, you’ll encounter insta-worthy photo moments and women-led activations. At the entrance is our wishing gate, where you can write down your dreams and make them part of the experience. Then, hang out with fashion illustrator Yaima Linares at her own cozy café for live sketches prior to the panel. We’ll also have a dry flower bar, so you can create your own beautiful bouquet to take home.

Food & Beverages

Stop by two exquisite charcuterie stations for light bites, courtesy of our caterer Porche Sullivan from Jessie’s Southern Kitchen. And if you want to pair your cheese with some wine, there will be several bars throughout the showroom for your choice of beverage.

Giving Back

El Dorado Furniture is proud to support Lotus House, a shelter that provides resources and multi-faceted supportive services to homeless women and children in Miami. Our Kendall showroom will serve as a drop-off location until April 30th, 2023. For a list of their most-needed items, click here.

Aida Capó

1926 – 2018

Aida Capo

THE ORIGINAL "ELLA" OF EL DORADO FURNITURE

When you think about the story of El Dorado Furniture, the first thing you probably picture is Manuel Capó and sons Luis and Carlos leaving their home in a small sailboat called El Dorado to start a new life in the US. But who you don’t hear about as often is Aida Capó. While her husband was pursuing their American dream, she stayed behind, working as a teacher and taking care of her rambunctious sons while a revolution started brewing all around her.

When El Dorado Furniture opened their first store in Calle Ocho, she was the driving force that kept the whole family and business together. As the company expanded across Florida, she stayed true to their traditions and values; a virtue that would be awarded by the Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation’s “Woman of the Year” award and memorialized on the intersection of 72nd Avenue and 12th Street known as “Aida Rosa Capó Way.”

Ella Dorado: Day to Night Experience pays a long-overdue tribute to her and honors all the generations of women in our community that are making an impact.
