About this Location

The first ever El Dorado Furniture store opened on June 27, 1967, named El Dorado Furniture Calle Ocho. The name “El Dorado” came from the sailboat that the Capo family used to sail to freedom in the United States.



Since 1967, El Dorado Furniture Calle Ocho Boulevard has been renovated several times, with the latest remodel in June 2018, with a total square footage of 37,514.68 square feet. The intersection of this first El Dorado Furniture store (SW 25th Ave) was even renamed as Manolo Capó Way in 2009 to honor the founder of El Dorado Furniture, Manuel Capó!



As our first location in South Florida, the Calle Ocho store remains rich in history, with special features inside the showroom that you will only find there, so it’s definitely a furniture store in Miami worth visiting. You can take a picture with the life-sized statue of Manuel Capo or take a look at the replicas of the original store and delivery truck. There’s even a replica of the original El Dorado Furniture sign from when the store was first built!
